July 2011 Table Runner for Teresa's Table

I found this fabric already pieced together at Joann's. It has all different prints sewn together. Quickly thought of T and her home.

Baby Layettes

Baby Layettes for the upcoming births of friends and family! So fun to make the matching sets. The fabrics are from Joanns and the colored diapers are from Target. The onsies I picked up at a local TJ Maxx. I am trying to use my embroidery function on my sewing machine a bit more. I used Guitermann embroidery thread from Joanns as well.

New Member of our Sewing Class - Dani Elms

This is Dani Elms. She is a lovely young lady who was interested in joining our sewing class at my home on Monday evenings. She was interested in making Yoga Mat Totes as she has an opportunity to sell them at a friend's Yoga Studio. She used vintage red print fabric that belonged to her gramma. The fabric was from old flour sacks. It turned out really cute! Can't wait to see what else she comes up with!

Updating the backyard with new accessories

It is amazing how much the sun can fade fabrics. I decided that our old accessories that I had in our backyard were in serious need of an update. I found this adorable fabric at Joann's and happened to have some scraps of burlap laying around begging to be used. We use our patio so much in the summertime what with the beautiful weather we have here in Southern California.

July 4th Table Runner

This fabric which was purchased from Joann's was prequilted which made it a snap to sew into a very patriotic table runner for my daughter's home. This is actually my kitchen table that we have had since before our girls were born. I had to try it out to see how it looked. I hope she likes it!

The Grace Apron Dress from Etsy

Lizzy really needed a new sun dress and what couldn't be cuter than a halter on a baby! The Grace Apron Dress pattern is available on Etsy and I just happened to have the fabric from a fat quarter collection that was in need of some use. Pattern directions were easy to follow. I can't wait to see her in it!

Egg Gathering Apron

My daughter saw an apron on Pinterest that was used to gather eggs or possibly vegetables or fruits from the garden. Of course once she said she would like one and I looked at it, I thought that I should try and make one for her! The fabrics are from Joann's and the fabric with the chicken's on it is a Henry Alexander Design. It is so cute with all the chickens running all over it and those lovely Red Roosters taking charge! If you haven't checked out Pinterest.com you should. Lots of inspirational ideas over there!

Stenciled Pillow for Living Room

I have wanted to stencil on fabric for quite some time so when I saw this rust colored linen at Joann's our local fabric store I decided to give it a shot. The stencil, paints, trim and fabric were all from Joann's.

The start of Bailey's Quilt from her Daddy's shirts

My brother's shirts were the inspiration for a quilt for his daughter, Bailey. I got them all cut out and need to start assembling them soon. I am using a 9 block pattern. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

Big Bite Tool

When it was time to punch the holes in Jack's Color Book, my daughter suggested we use her "Big Bite" tool. It worked out beautifully! The great thing about it was it would punch through the thick felt and also the bite is adjustable so you can go as deep as you need to.

April 2011 Bonnet & Onesie for Lizzy Girl

The sun is shining and it is time to cover those sweet babies heads! Simple to make and lots of patterns out there! Try your local Joann's or Etsy for patterns. It takes very little fabric, trim and interfacing to make an adorable outfit!

2011, April Needle Felting

The start of a new craft for me! Needle felting. I took one of the headbands from Joann's dollar bin to practice on. I had purchased the wool roving, needles and block from a crafter at a craft fair recently. It is really easy and now I can't wait to start another project. Perhaps on a cardigan sweater!

Close up of work.
