Sewing Class Quilts

This is a quilt Angie is working on from a kit available at Joann's. The colors are beautiful! Can't wait to see it with the binding on the edges.

Ayesha made this banner for Father's Day! I really want to make one of these! The rick rack is so adorable.

This is Ayesha's quilt that she has been working on. This is a tribute quilt. The centers of the blocks have patches of fabric from her mother's clothing. It is sew beautiful.

Becca stopped by the other day for Father's day and brought her newest project. Enviro friendly napkin/silverware holder for your lunch sack. So greeeeeen!!!

Stitch Magazine - Apron Pattern

Posted by PicasaI found a new magazine, at least new to me, Stitch. I don't know about anyone else, but there just isn't a very large selection of sewing magazines that have to do with general sewing with different projects etc. There seem to be lots of quilting magazines out there so I was excited when I ran across this issue. Included in the magazine are full size patterns as well. This particular pattern was not included in the full size patterns, but it gave directions for cutting it out by measurements. It was challenging and once it was cut out I put it up to me and it was very long, so I cut off 6 inches along the hem line so that it was shorter. I also installed a wide curved pocket and added bias tape to the upper edge of it. I sewed the pocket down the middle creating two pockets.

Amy Butler's Stash & Dash Bags

Another Amy Butler pattern! What can I say, I just really love her designs. This fabric was left over from my daughter's hospital gown when she went in to have my grandson, Jack. I purchased the fabric at JoAnn's and I believe they still carry it. The pattern was purchased at a quilt shop in Palo Alto, but I know that Tall Mouse carries her patterns as well. Fairly easy to make, directions easy to follow.

Nothing to do with Sewing!

I just had to share with you what I did with my paper from Amy Butler. There Hershey bars wrapped up in beautiful paper and I used my Sizzix to cut out the flowers. I keep a half dozen or so on hand at work so I can slip one into a mail box of someone who is celebrating their birthday.

Birdie Sling Pattern by Amy Butler

I just seem to just be amazed at Amy Butler's patterns! They are so adorable. I am sure whomever is going to receive these as a gift will enjoy them as much as I did in making them. Little birdie print is from Heidi Grace or Debbie Mumm, I just can't remember. The teepee print is one I found in Joanne's as well.

I made these hourglass shaped burp cloths by layering two pieces of flannel with a cotton batting layered in between them. Easy to make. Wonderful gift idea!
